PREMIER COSTA RICA LEGENDS SURF TOURNAMENT A FESTIVAL OF TUBES!

Playa Hermosa, COSTA RICA - As was expected, the Pacific Ocean in Playa Hermosa surged to 7-10 foot waves with favorable wind giving optimal conditions to the first-ever Torneo Leyendas de Costa Rica. Gathered together in this spectacle were surfers of over 35 years of age fighting to the end today at 1 p.m. in the best spectacle of tubes seen in years in this match organized by the Federacion de Surf de Costa Rica (FSC). The Board of Directors of the FSC will make a National Selection from these winners for the International Surfing Assocation Masters event next year in Costa de Caparica, Portugal.

Phil MacDonald Wins ASP WQS 6-Star Buondi Billabong Pro in Portugal
ERICEIRA, Portugal - Phillip MacDonald (Sydney, AUS), 29,  claimed the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star Buondi Billabong Pro today in tricky two foot (0.5 meter) waves at the event's back-up venue of Piedra Blanca clinching 2500 ratingspoints after defeating Patrick Gudauskas (Ca, USA) in a nerve testing final where ten waves only were surfed. MacDonald, who jumps from No. 31 to 14 on the
ASP WQS international ratings, will now be looking forward to requalifying for the ASP World Tour.

Arrambide beat local surfer Rob Kelly (Ocean City, NJ), 18, Nat Young (Santa Cruz, CA), 17, and Trevor Saunders (San Clemente, CA), 18, in improved two-to-three foot (1 metre) conditions this afternoon in Sea Isle City, New Jersey.
